Directions to the Brownsville Football Game
Played at Redstone Field in Republic, PA
Approx. 30 miles from South Allegheny High School.
- Take RT. 51 SOUTH to RTE. 201 SOUTH ( 4.7 miles from Rte. 48 at 51 )
This is immediately past Bill's Golf Land. Turn at the Old Peasant Village. - You will come to a four-way Stop Sign (at a Farm) - Turn Left.
This is still Rte. 201 S. - Stay on RTE. 201 SOUTH cross over I-70 WEST ( 3.6 miles from Rte. 51 )
At the light stay get in the left lane but turn left towards gas station.
Go underneath the RR Trestle and you must be in the left lane. - Go straight through business district (Wal-Mart, Denny’s, etc)
Three Stop Lights (3rd light is further than first 2) - Follow 201 South until Brownsville Road ( 4 miles )
Pass thru town of Fayette City, immediately past Phil’s Tire Center on right.
The sign for Brownsville Road is no more than a street sign. - Follow road to Brownsville ( 5.7 miles)
There are 2 very large hills; the second hill (down) s near the end.
This is mainly farmland. Also near the end there are 3 tunnels, all narrow, and the last one has a very sharp right hand turn at the end. - At the T (Church & Billboard) turn Left up the hill
- Before you go under the bridge Bear Right
This is the entrance ramp for RTE 40 East ( ~ 100 yds. after the T ) - RTE 40 East, straight through 2 stop lights.
Turn RIGHT when expressway ends, stay in the right lane (head toward water tower) (1.7 miles) - Straight through light (car dealership on right, gas station on left)
- Follow road (RTE 166 South) until Redstone Field (on the right) (3 miles)
